Day 1 - Welcome to India! An Active India Holiday representative will greet you at the arrival hall at the Delhi International Airport. As you drive to the hotel in comfort, enjoy the sights along the way while our representative briefs you about the experience that awaits you. Check-in at the hotel and freshen up. Rest of the day is free to explore the national capital with its many attractions, be it monuments, museums, galleries or bazaars. You may also choose to visit Lodi Gardens, a tranquil green space where you can take a stroll and discover historic tombs and monuments.

Day 2 - We take a morning flight to Guwahati, the capital of Assam. From there we drive to Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya, situated at an altitude of 1,491m above sea level and known for its picturesque sights and traditions. On the way we stop at the Borapani Lake, the biggest artificial lake in the state of Meghalaya. Also known as the Umiam Lake, it is surrounded by magnificent Sylvan hills. Then we continue to the beautiful hill station of Shillong. Upon arrival we check in at the hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay in hotel.

Day 3 - After breakfast we head for an excursion to Mawlynnong village, one of the cleanest villages in Asia. Mawlynnong lies in the East Khasi hills district of Meghalaya. A village of 75 households with a population of 400 people, it is located 30 kilometres from Pynursla on the Shillong-Dawki Road. This lovely village exemplifies a level to which all other villages should aspire. The Discover India Magazine named the village the cleanest in India, and the main Village School, up to Class V claims a zero dropout rate and a literacy rate of 90 percent. A living root bridge, hilly rivulets, an acacia plantation and an excellent view of Bangladesh's remote plains all add to the charm of the village. We visit the living root bridge, which will take about 20 to 25 years to attain perfect shape. After the tour we return to the hotel and overnight stay in Shillong.

Day 4 - Today we visit Cherrapunjee, one of the wettest places on Earth. After breakfast we leave for Cherrapunjee. The scenic drive gives a spectacular view of deep gorges and the rolling hills laden with tropical vegetation and an innumerable variety of ferns, moss and orchids. At Cherrapunjee we explore the Spectacular Seven Sisters Falls, the Mawsmai Cave and the Thangkharang Park. In the evening we return to Shillong and on the way stop at the Elephanta Falls and the famous Shillong Peak. Later we return to the hotel and stay overnight in Shillong.

Day 5 - After breakfast, we drive to the Kaziranga National Park, where we have an excellent opportunity to see the iconic One Horned Rhinoceros. The Kaziranga National Park is home to more than 75 percent of the world's population of the One Horned Rhinoceros. The park also boasts of other wildlife including water buffalo, elephants, tigers, and swamp deer, barking deer and hog deer as well as 400 species of birds. Upon arrival we check-in at the hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore the resort. You can also take a nature walk in the serene surroundings. Return to the hotel in the evening and have a delicious dinner. Overnight stay in Kaziranga.

Day 6 - We go on two game drives into the park today, one in the morning and the other in the afternoon, to spot a wide range of wild animals and birds. Known for the endangered Indian One-Horned Rhinoceros, we may spot a few during the safari. The evening is free to explore the surroundings.

Day 7 - Today we go on a jeep safari in the National Park to see the central range of the park for a couple of hours before returning to our accommodation for breakfast. This park, declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1985, has tigers, large breeding elephants, wild water buffaloes and swamp deer. Situated on the banks of river Brahmaputra, the sanctuary is blessed with different kinds of vegetation too. The amazing array of flora and diverse fauna contributes to the park's visual splendour. After breakfast there is free time to relax until lunch. After lunch, it's time for another safari into the park, this time in jeeps.

Day 8 - In the morning we drive back to the Guwahati Airport to board our flight to Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal. Located on the east bank of the Hooghly River, Kolkata is the principal commercial, cultural, and educational centre of East India. The Port of Kolkata is India's oldest operating port as well as its sole major riverine port. As a core of the Bengal Renaissance in the 19th and early 20th centuries, and a religiously and ethnically diverse cultural centre, Kolkata has produced well recognized local traditions in drama, art, cinema, theatre, and literature. The city also holds a unique, rich and colourful cultural heritage. Upon arrival we check-in at the hotel. Overnight stay in Kolkata.

Day 9 - Early morning we drive for around three hours from to the Gadkhali ferry station, passing through tiny bazaars, villages, and countryside before boarding a boat to the Sunderbans National Park. The Sunderbans are the largest single block of tidal halophytic mangrove forest in the world and cover an area of approximately 10,000 square kms of which 60 percent is in Bangladesh. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a Tiger Reserve of the Bengal Tiger and a Biosphere Reserve. Upon arrival we check-in at the camp and have lunch. In the afternoon we set out for a guided village walk to get a feel of the place, the people and local life followed by evening tea and snacks. We also get to interact with the local team at the Jungle Camp that belong from the nearby village. Dinner and overnight stay at Sunderban National Park.

Day 10 - We explore the national park and go looking for the Bengal Tigers and other animal and birds as we enjoy a boat ride on the calm waters of Sunderbans. The surroundings are beautiful and enchanting and we spend the day amid green mangroves, closer to nature. Lunch, water and tea services will be arranged on board. Overnight stay at Sunderban National Park.

Day 11 - In the morning we leave for a country boat ride. Return to camp and leave for Gadhkali by boat from where we will drive back to Kolkata. Upon arrival we check-in at the hotel. In the afternoon we leave for a half day sightseeing tour of Kolkata. We first visit the grand and gorgeous Victoria Memorial. Kolkata's most popular building; Victoria Memorial is made of white marble in a European architectural style and houses several rare and unique antiques. Later we visit the divine Kali Temple situated on the bank of Hooghly River. One of the 51 Shakti Peethas, this massive and wonderfully designed temple is devoted to the Hindu Goddess Kali. Overnight stay in Kolkata.
