Kibber Parangla Tsomoriri Trek
Overview
This high-altitude trek traverses high passes and glaciers and beautiful peaks and pastures from the enchanting Spiti valley in Himachal to the picturesque Tsomoriri Lake in Ladakh. Trudging through sequestered villages and un-trudged regions are the highlight of this trek. Challenges are appropriately rewarded by breathtaking panoramic views all around.

Day 1 - Arrive in Delhi, the national capital of India, the city which is as historic as modern. After clearing immigration and customs formalities; proceed towards the arrival hall, where you will be greeted by our office representative. He will assist you to the vehicle and will take you to the Delhi Hotel. There are no activities planned for the first day, so simply relax at the Hotel and recover your energy levels or depending upon your flight schedules we can plan some. Stay Overnight in Delhi.

Day 2 - Early morning flight to Leh, airport arrival transfer to Hotel and afternoon free to acclimatize. Evening local bazaar visit. Overnight stay in Hotel.

Day 3 - Full days sightseeing to visit Likir-Alchi and Ritzong Monasteries and evening return to Leh for overnight stay.

Day 4 - Morning after breakfast gentle walk to Shanti Stupa, Shankar Gompa and return to Leh Palace before back to hotel. Afternoon free time enjoy local market atmosphere or do preparations to trekking. Overnight stay in hotel.

Day 5 - In the morning, we transfer to Tsokar which is about 5 hrs drive over the 2nd highest motorable road Tanglang la (5328 m). En-route we visit Shey, Thiksey and Hemis Gompas. Overnight stay in hotel.

Day 6 - Today after breakfast trek will take us to Nuruchan via crossing high plans of Tsokar lake. Overnight stay in camps. (Walking about 4 ½ hrs)

Day 7 - Today’s trek will take you a gradual climb to Horlam La ( 4030 M) populated by larks and marmots later decent in a grassy valley of pastures to reach Rajun Karu (4700 M) also a place where sometimes there are nomad tents.

Day 8 - Today is a long day trek by crossing two high passes Kyamayaru La 5410 m and Gyamar La 5380 m. steep ascend will take you slowly on top where you can enjoy the panorama and later descending we reach to camp site for overnight stay. (Walking 7-8 hrs)

Day 9 - Today another long day trek takes you to highest pass of the trek Yarlung La (5430 m). After a gradual climb we reach on top and can enjoy panoramic views of Manthok Kangri and Tsomoriri lake. Later trail will descend on the other side till you reach a small village of Karzok. Overnight in camps. (Walking 7-8 hrs)

Day 10 - Day at leisure to explore Tsomorri Lake area and Karzok village or optional day trek around the area for about 5 hrs. Overnight stay in camps .

Day 11 - Today we walk on varied terrain along Tsomoriri Lake and passing through south along a high barrier and with high peaks covered with snow on the horizon. Our camp is located at the southern end of the lake where a few nomads can stay with privileged views of the lake and the Himalayas. Overnight stay in camps (Walking 6-7 hrs)

Day 12 - Today after breakfast we leave behind Tsomoriri Lake and the trail leads us the Parang Chu river which we follow to the pass leading to the Spiti valley. During the trek we will see herds of Kiang a wild donkey living in the highlands of Tibet and Ladakh. We will set up our camp at the bottom of the valley and offers us a view of the uphill path of the next day. (Walking 4 - 5 hrs)

Day 13 - This morning easy trek start but there are some steep slopes and tributary crossings that do not make this day monotonous far from it!. Overnight stay in camps. (Walking 5 -6 hrs) .

Day 14 - Today after breakfast continue walking in the same direction passing several hills till you reach to camp site.(Walking 4-5 hrs )

Day 15 - Today it will be the final climb towards Parang-La, the last high pass of our adventure which we will cross tomorrow. Camp at base o Parang La. (Walking 6 - 7 hrs)

Day 16 - This morning we leave early to cross the Parang La pass ( 5575 M) in the best possible conditions. While reaching to the pass enjoy magnificent views after passing the Tibetan prayer flags adorning all the passes of the Himalayas we begin a steep descent into an even drier universe than the previous days. We set up camp near water. (Walking 6 - 7 hrs)

Day 17 - Today after breakfast we continue our trek which descents and passing through an amazing desert and freezing landscape until to reach our camp site at Dumla village.. (Walking 4-5 hrs)

Day 18 - Today will be our last day of short trek to Kibber, visit village and transfer to Kaza about 45 minutes enroute visit Ki monastery before check in to you guest house at Kaza.

Day 19 - Today is long day bumpy travel to Manali over Kunzum La (4551 M) via Losar village, Chotta Dhara and over the last pass before arriving Manali is Rohtang La (3978 M). Overnight in Hotel. (200 KMS/ 10-11 HRS)

Day 20 - Morning after breakfast drive to Chandigarh via Kullu and Mandi. Arrive early evening and check in to hotel. Evening is free to relax.

Day 21 - Early morning transfer to Chandigarh train station to board express train for Delhi. Arrive early afternoon check in to hotel to use day use rooms before given transfer to international airport.
